So I've got a interesting story to tell. I bought a 2003 HD for a great price out of Kentucky with a rebuilt title, a young kid had it. Drove two hours down there to look at the truck after negotiating a price through Facebook messenger. Truck was dirty and well "used" but solid so we (wife and I) bought it and drove it home. The truck had a red border Kentucky rebuilt title( found out later was a flood vehicle from Louisiana) this is where is gets tricky. Indiana BMV won't accept a Kentucky red title so when I got up to register vehicle I was denied. However after calling the BMV help desk in Indianapolis they said I could register the vehicle. So today wife goes up to BMV to register and was told that vehicle could not be registered. After much discussion wife told them we was cleared by Indy BMV HQ. Long story short it is now legal. I have bought many vehicles throughout the states and never ran into such an ordeal as this. Buyer beware of Kentucky red border title. Lots of TLC to be done but love the truck and happy to save this truck and keep it on the road
