Mail Order from the US? Or would customs hassle you?
Mail order what. ??
I've no idea when it comes to this so I sure what's needed
Buying a handheld from a tuner in the US. They will need a list of modifications, and the 4 digit code from the computer. I believe there is only one computer code for a 03 HD unless something weird was done to import it into the UK. You will need to figure out what pulley ratio is on the truck
I had Johnny lightning write me a tune at a car show I was at, truck sight unseen. I have a 14lb lightning lower an SCT ba2800 mass air flow sensor and a volant intake. Great drive ability and runs good. I think with moderate modifications the guys that have tuned a lot of these trucks has no issues writing a tune without data logging the truck. I am using a SCT X4
best, no.
it would be best to find a local SCT dealer / tuner that can do a dyno tune for your truck. Mail order tunes are only as good as your ability to communicate and work with the tuner - and would require a wide-band oxygen sensor added to your truck that you can datalog along with the other sensors on the truck. Only then, can an email/mail-order tune file be made to what I would call 'good enough to trust"
