I swear I did a search, need help Fuel Door

I bought the Bullit Fuel Door for the 03 and well as I've installed this quite easily on the Lightning it seems to be a problem with the Harley truck!
Since the HD is a style side the fuel filler opening is enclosed and will not allow the fuel door to hook into the side like it did on my Lightning. Am I to remove the hooks and use longer screws or am I screwed on this and need to send it back?

    TIA

    Bruce,
Just to make I have the same gas door in mind, is this what you are trying to install? It was straight swap/bolt on for both the HD and L. OOOPSIE, just re-read and noticed you got the BULLIT (mustang?) version?

    Romeo,
Yeah I bought the Mustang version. It is the same exact one that I used on my 2000 Lightning. It bolted right on for that one, if you look in at your Lightning and then check out your HD you'll notice that the inside of the filler door is different and will not allow for the black hooks to hold onto.
Plus I can not get the damn bottom screw out that holds the door on. I plan on getting that sumbeiotch with a drill and a screw extractor!!!!

    Which one did you get???

    Thanks man!

    Bruce,
Got this one for the L:

Essentially the same one I got for the HD. Install was straightforward for both (did not note any difference at all)

    BIN of $32 + $6.50 shipping.
    1. Remove 2 rubber bump stops.
    2. unscrew hinges from factory door.
    3. screw NEW mounting plate on right side of filler opening
    4. mount NEW door with 2 screws using holes from the factory hinge. DONE.

Try your local parts store (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) in case they already have one there (BULLY brand)

No kidding sweet! I saw that one on EBAY but wasn't sure of the quality of it so went with what I knew.
    Thanks Rome!

    Nice,
I just picked up the Bullit yesterday because I wanted to stay with the Ford product figuring it was a bolt up. Has anyone installed a Bullit on our trucks or am I going to have to return it like Black 2003?

I'm thinking we should be able to get some longer star screws to go through and bolt on.
I'll let you know if I get it to work!

BTW this is the one that I have.
Well as it turns out this one does not fit on the Harley truck!

It is brand new and I will need to get another one for the truck.
I want to get what I paid for it so I am asking $ 69.00
Plus I can bring to Cecil with me if you are interested!

Click here! is where I purchased from.

You could always get this one, from stylin concepts. It is pricey but a nice touch of bling

    Yeap sure do,

I think it looks pretty good on my 02. I had a billet one but it just did not do it for me. This is even a locking one. Here is the link

I have seen STEW's door in person and I can vouch that it is worth it's "premium" price. However, may I respectfully point out your tires are beggin for some "shine"

You know what I am going to hit them up with after the 4 coats of z-5 and 2 coats of z-2, and then Zaino Grand Finale!
