    Taking sticker flames off.

Is it too late to take the pin stripe off? Will I have an outline of where the sticker was?

How did you take it off? The sticker on my truck is old and you can see the white of the sticker on some parts.

had afriend at a body shop do it, its easy though, grab a corner and start pulling, just make sure you get all the sticky stuff off the paint. can't remember what he used to get the adhesive off though

I was at a car wash and asked one of the guys there about it and he said "if you ever do it bring it by, I have some stuff to take the residue off."

I guess I'll swing by there tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help.

Get the surface good and hot like a sunny warm day or get a blow dryer out and heat the surface. Take a corner piece and slowly peel it back. Too fast and you'll tear the decal so go at a steady even pace. A good warm day is preferable since most of the surface is already hot then you don't have to mess with a blow dryer. I used Goo Gone to remove residue on the underside of a fiberglass hood that was painted and it worked great. Follow with a few coats of good wax and she should be good.

You will have a shadow in the paint, but this can be buffed out.

as said....warm day, maybe hit it with a blow dryer (or be careful and use a heat gun) and peel it off. one sunny day and a black truck it'll be cooking by itself.

any residue left...as tazz said...goo gone works amazing!

And I shouldn't get any discoloration that can't be fixed with a buffer and a good wax job?

I did it yesterday after work. It turned out great with absolutley no lines or anything, just smooth black paint all the way down the truck. I pealed the sticker back with my fingernail, then applied a light coat of glass cleaner to a couple of paper towels to take the residue off, then put some wax on a cloth and just rubbed the surface in a circular motion to get it just how I wanted it.

The other pics are of the sub box I had built to replace the rear center console.
