My headlights look kinda "cloudy". What causes this and how do you clean them? I have washed them several times and it doesn't help.

Yes officer... I am aware of how fast I was going!
cloudiness is actually sometimes on the inside. try buffing the outside with a buffing agent and a buffing wheel, if that doesnt work you will probablly need to disassemble the headlights and buff the insides.
I took a closer look and it's some type of "calcium" like deposits all over the outside.
I don't just want to put anything on the headlights... will something like CLR work?
Does anyone else have this on their headlights?
i had it on the inside of my right headlight. turns out a small crack appeared and air went inside...thus moisture made it appear "cloudy". the warranty covered a new headlight and should work for you as well
Flitz IT!!!!!
zaino makes a plastic polish for things just like that. of course i bought a bottle and havent had anything to use it on to test it out but none of their other products have let me down yet, so i'm sure the plastic polish is kick azz as well!
Old trick is to use a buffer and ordinary tooth paste. Used to do my racing face shield that way. Just enough mild abrasive to polish without leaving any scratches. Cheap and works!
I've found the 3M plastic cleaner does a great job removing the haze. Available at most car paint stores.
i used brake fluid with a buffer and it did wonders on a buddy's accord, cant remember if they were the stock lights or aftermarket that could have been glass... but i kno it took off that layer or haze/ dirtyness
i'd be very careful using brake fluid for buffing the corners especially near paint. for a couple bucks and piece of mind a bit safer idea to pick up some compound.
i finally got around to using the zaino plastic polish tonight on jpanchalk's corners in his 02 HD, worked great and lookin like new again
I used some CLR to remove the deposits then I applied NOVUS fine scratch remover and they look MUCH better.
