    how to tell what type of tranny using the vin#

    i really searched but i couldn't find it. i already know what type i have but i have a friend who after seeing my truck with the s/c swap whants to get a regular cab f150 and do the same. hes looking on ebay and i remember there was a way but i forgot. thanx in advance

    On the Vehicle Cert Label (drivers side Door frame)

    Look for the Code below "TR"

    U= 4 speed automatic (AODE, W/4R70W)
    E= 4 speed automatice (4R100)
    7= 4 speed automatice (4R100), Lightning
