    Any Idea's ??

I will be doing a small project here in the near future the will involve plastic parts. I will be grafting some pieces together (I Hope) , they will not be under any kind on major load.
However the seam work (So to speak ) will be visible.
If you've had some experience in this department and care to lend some advice it would be appreciated.

I wonder if an epoxy would work better from the underside?

always had incredible luck with JB Weld, especially for bonding plastic pieces together. JB Quik is a bit easier to work with since it sets up in 5 mins so gets strong fast

I've had a bit of time here. I fixed my mirrors on my screw. Not folding in and sealed the cover while filling the holes. I have repaired a few bike fairing. And just recently made a lower grille for my Piaa air dam on my screw out of a lower L grille.

Devcon plastic weld works really well and was much stronger than I expected on the fairings and grille. I used JBweld on the mirror also. I used the Devcon to hold everything together and then put several coats and used it like body filler. I'm 100% happy with the way all those projects turned out.

In the body shop world to fix tears in plastic facias we use 3M plastic repair. Part # 8239. you can pick it up at any O'Rileys' or paint supply store. Rough the surface up before you apply. There are other plastic repair products they make too depending on the flexablity of the plastic

G, just to give you something else to experiment with, check out this webpage. There is a list of cyanoacrylate (super glue) products including some that have built in flex additives. Don't forget the "kickers" which will cure the glue almost instantly. Makes for a good trial and error product because you can apply, accelerate, and sand it in seconds. Let me know if you have any problems, I know the owners there very, very well!!

I picked up a few tubes from Wal-mart but have seen them at autozone etc. It's a two part epoxy. Somewhat flexible, drys fairly quick, inexpensive.

Comes in a different box, or atleast it did a while back.

A plastic welder is the best way to go if the plastic is about 1/8in. thick or more. I have over 20g's in tools and its the one i use most.
