New personal best today....

Finally got to go back to the track today (1/8 mile) and i was very pleased. Temperature was around 70 degrees.

60ft............1.82
1/8 mile.......8.38@82.5mph

I was originally hoping for a high 8.4-ty, so when i saw this et, i was completely suprised. That should have been about a 13.0-13.1 run and i am trying all i can to get her into the 12's with as few as mods as possible. I'm thinking on a good cold night and a little more weight reduction (drop the spare), i'll be VERY close to the 12's. Probably gonna be ordering a set of long tubes and midpipes in the next week or so, so that should help out also. Just figured i'd share my happiness!!!!

black n blown,

are you running slicks now/drag tire? Thats where i picked up a lot this time. My previous 60ft on street tires was a 2.1? and with the slicks, I droped off a good 3 tenths. Good luck!

well i'm not sure about drag radials. I ran 28*10*16 inch slicks. I'm sure someone on here can give ya a good size to run though.

I'm saving my pennies for a set of traction bars.

i run 255/50/16 drag radials on F150 rims, but they are only about 16" tall. most people would probably go with 28's though. i liked the gearing drop with the 26" tall tire, but in the eighth mile, i'm far from the ideal rpm range going thru the traps.

Did you keep it in 2nd gear with OD off?

if you're talking to me, i just left mine in drive the whole time. My shift points on the aggressive tune shift out at 5300rpm's and it never goes into OD going down the track.

Ok, thx. I am going to try and leave mine in second next trip to the track. It shifts into 3rd about 60 ft from finish. My best 60' so far is 1.915 on Fuzions. Best 1/8th is 8.7 @80

i honestly can't remember where mine shifted into 3rd gear...but if i had to guess, i would say it would be just like yours shifting just shy of the 1/8 mile mark.

Then I will try 2nd gear next trip to the track. I have the FTVB C2r (if i remember right) and it does shift tight and hard into third, but since it is so close to the traps, I was thinking I might pick up a bit in mph and et as well if it will pull thru the traps without a shift. On a 1/4 mile track I think "D" with OD off would be great and have no real gains. Weather has been VERY wet here with lotsa flooding so I haven't been to the track in a few weeks. I will try this next time and see what, if any gains/losses I get.
