LFP bar installed.thanks bigStew, Nick.
Well I got the shims in and the LFP bars installed. Went to the track tonight.
I am at the limit of the street tires I guess. I did one lauch that broke my past record with the stock open suspension.Old was 1.90 sixty ft. Best I could do tonight in 10 runs was a 1.89 60ft. Most were 1.93-6 sixties. Thanks for install help Nick and other info Stew. I dont see much improvement with these new tires because any harder they spin or just break loose. They put down some nice track prep but it didnt matter. I will now go for some slicks! |

nice #'s for street tires! 1.89 is pretty good...about half my runs on ET Streets were right around there or higher haha, you should really drop down with some slicks on that thing

lol i launched at 2000 on the street before on my toyos. well if you want to call it a "launch". was more of a coast to 70 mph when i finally let off it, with just solid smoke show coming out the rear fenders the entire way

i've had traction bars since day one on the new motor
wouldnt hit the track without them. thats a BIG no-no with running slicks. driveshaft beware! lolthey are worthless on the street though. stops axle hop, but dont help the traction of 400 hp 500 tq very well ![]() |

I pre load the TC by feel.Truck has a good bind.I then roll on pretty quick to WOT.
The reason is that you cant drive it like a top fuel with slicks. Most 1st timers just go,go,go...spinning. Now we do notice that by "flashing" the convertor, meaning no pre throttle and just hitting the throttle is the best for a truck with good suspension and slicks. You can utilize all the torque to get out the hole. I just dont how any body can be really accurate on street tires. However it is nice to know that I can arrive n drive and then leave. No tools but an air gauge. I also lower my tires down to 18-20 lbs. I want some softness to absorb a little transition shock but mostly to use the largest contact area of the tire. My 2 cents! |
