dynoed last night

Well, I went ahead and had the truck dynoed last night. With only a JLT intake, a 2 lb lower, and an SCT xcal2, it made 348 (sae corrected) hp, and just over 400 torque. That is basically 11.5-12:1 afr, and 19 degrees of total timing. The baseline run was 312hp and 360 torque. I was pretty pleased with this, and can feel a difference. The tuning was done by Jaws Racing in Tallahassee, FL. Tony is a great guy and a damn good tuner.

^^^x4 !!! That is pretty high unless you are runnning an octane booster or race fuel. I would recommend no more than 16 degrees for daily driving. Mine had a19 degree tune on it for a few pulls to determine max HP, but was pulled back for daily driving.

Mine did not ping at 19 degrees on 93 octane, but it still very aggressive for these engines. You will not lose much HP pulling it back to 16 or so. I went from 400 to 389 HP by pulling it down to 16 degrees. If you want more out of it, it is safer to go with a 4 or 6# lower and pull the timing back out.

Please do us and yourself a big favor...settle for less HP and pull some timing out before you get your VB membership.

Im all about power but 19' timing is asking for it. You get some bad gas and your done.
