Question How much have Converters helped you guys/gals out??

Just wondering how much an aftermarket converter have helped the ones who have switched over to one? I am looking at a 2400 factory tech, but debating on whether it is worth it or not. I pulled a 1.82 60ft last time out on slicks. I know what lightnings pull with the addition of aftermarket converters, but what have you noticed with the Harleys?

    thanks

Have you thought about changing you rear end gear ratio instead.

nah, i prefer to keep it like it is now just because i like how it feels and the mph it shifts out at. I am also very much into this converter because of the price i am getting it at too.

Wouldn't a converter change the way it feels also?

Yes it will defiantly change the way it feel's. I have placed high stall's in other vehicles of mine, however I don't have nor do I plan on putting one in the truck.

Now it's been a long time since I've raced an auto, but I would think putting in a high stall converter would be pissing in the wind. I mean usualy when I went with a high stall it was because of a cam swap etc. The only thing that makes sence to me on our trucks concerning the gear box, is a shift kit of some sort. I think the most common deal done is a VB swap. Thats my .02, and again I haven't messed with an auto in years.

Pro is right, go with a FTVB or a Diablo and change your shift point's verses the pressure.

    54Triton,
We have been building custom converters for lightnings with success.
I will be putting one in my Harley probably next week if I get some "free time".
I have also been toying with converter lockup rates attempting to achieve additional MPH.
The extra weight is going to be the R&D difference.
These converters will be specifically for the Harley's and different from the Lightnings.
I will keep you informed if your interested.
I too have all the bolt ons. Stock motor and supercharger.
1.81 60ft. all day with the stock converter.
104.50 consistent mph. in the 1/4
