Exclamation Tranny fluid update!!! Must read!!!

    hey everyone,

Just wanted everyone to know (for those of whom DONT already know this)
After ford discountinued the mercon fluid for our 4r100 trannys they reformulated the MERCON V to be compatable with our trans... NOT OUR MERCON FLUIDS!!!

We can use MERCON V in our 4r100 trannys ONLY IF you flush the entire trans, cooler, and lines, then the MERCON V will surpass as an applicable fluid type w/ or w/o Valve Bodys

****IF YOU PLAN ON DOING A FACTORY TECH VALVE BODY OR PUNISHER VALVE BODY PLEASE READ BELOW*******

ISSUE: if you have the orginal fluid MERCON in your trans, or after you flushed it and resued MERCON, you CANNOT add MERCON V to your trans and have it be mixed with the MERCON. THAT WILL NOT SURPASS and expect to be rebuilding your transmissions!!..

RESOLUTION: Certain companys make mercon/dexIII which is compatable with our preexisting MERCON fluid.. Particularly ADVANCE AUTO PARTS makes DEXIII/M: (this is what it says on the net) PART NO:A100

Advance Auto Parts DEX III/M Automatic Transmission Fluid is formulated for older model Ford and General Motors vehicles requiring MERCONŽ, DEXRON-IŽ, DEXRON-IIŽ and DEXRON-IIIŽ.

SO JUST AN FYI TO EVERYONE and ESPECIALLY THE NEW GUYS (EVEN MYSELF) if you plan on servicing, or installing a aftermarket valvebody..

My uncle works for ford (10 years now) , and after speaking with him about this, Mad Mike, and a few others, i figured i would everyone know now so they have this in the back of there minds..

(hopefully this becomes a sticky but if it doesnt, regardless i let everyone know the heads up..

lol the one and only good thing about having a 4R70W in Jekyll, is it takes Mercon V so no headaches there trying to get the right fluid
