Pro
1)faster down the 1/4 mile
2)AWESOME tire smoker
3)Better 60 ft with suspension
Con
1)good for lower HP motors but getting into High HP you will need to go back down
2)breaks tires loose easier so you might need a better suspension and be careful in rain
3)Cost at least $1200

You may need to re-phrase your first post as I'm having difficulty interpreting what you mean. Do you want the back end to be a different shape or do you just want to be able to spin out in it?
well I would say top quality shocks for the rear and mostly installation of the gears beacause I heard it really expensive to get gears changed
It's typically $250 labor plus gears plus install kit (~$100) at pretty much any reputable driveline shop.
I wouldn't want 4.10's in my truck, it already blows the tires away under 50mph if I punch it, and these motors don't rev very high so you're getting out of the power band too quickly IMO.

2002 DSG HD #09617 NHTOC Truck of the month November 2012
Ported eaton/plenum/tb, 6lb lower, SCT BA-2600 MAF, OBX longtubes, JLP intake, FTVB, L-spec bilsteins, Hotchkis TVS, 22" replicas. Tuned by Ray McClelland of FTK
dont do it i regret changing to them when i built my rear. once my truck is running im going back to 3.73s
I have 4.10's to put in too and really want to do it because all we have here is a 1/8 th mile track. Top speed limit is 50mph and we have no real highways of any distance. When I get out in my truck it is mostly in 30-40 mph traffic so I don't care about gas mileage and higher rpm's either. The real showstopper is finding someone here I really trust to do the install. I've done many gear swaps in my other vehicles and I can't stand a whiny or chattering rear.
Oh god, what did I just open myself up for with that statement!
high way rpms suck, high 1/4 mile trap rpms suck. about the only thing fun is taking off from lights. also if you race @ the track you need bigger slicks, even then the rpms are still too high
trust me stay with the 3.73s. if you plan on going built and getting a big blower you will be glad you did. just ask harley356. he started out with 3.55 then went 4.10 then 3.73 now has to go back to 3.55
