I know Merlin uses all the best brands but I really think Zaino has one of the best longevity's out there of all. It's a more synthetic wet look shine than some of the other products that may give a deeper carnuba like shine but it really lasts a long time and protects well.

not gonna lie i dont know the difference in shines haha..... i like how it looks when you look at it and it seems like it keeps going so i guess that would be deep? or am i thinking wet? haha i have no clue.....but i do know my buddy tried to sell me some zaino a while back and i think he used a detailer type on a small portion of my fender right after i gont done waxing.... i was still new to the waxing black game...not saying im a pro now but..... could tell a total difference where he put it ....and at the perfect time a pump truck rolled by and dust got on the truck .... go figure... well i stood there and watched the dust literally roll off of it like it was water and stick to the rest of the truck

Well my first concern is your health. Here are a couple of quotes:
"You can never do by hand what you can accomplish by machine."
"Why do something by hand when you can do a better job with a machine."
Again, my first concern for you is to find an easier method to do a better job.

"get the plastic back to decent"
See the thread on Dry Shine black Trim Restore Treatment

    "a method for glass"
What are you trying to accomplish?
Removing water spots and stains or maintaining a clean spot free finish.

Obtaining and maintaining a "show car" finish
My suggestion is to purchase a DA buffer. Let the machine do the work...not your elbow!
The Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher is an excellent machine with lots of power.
You will need a few accessories to go along with the polisher to get started. Polish, Pads etc.
I'll be glad to make you a short list. It will cost less than what you spent on your elbow. (sigh)

    "Preparation is the key"
The correct way to obtain a great detail is preparing the paint and removing any swirls and scratches before applying your Last Step Product (LSP)
"If you have swirls and scratches in your paint & apply an LSP without correcting the swirls & scratches...you will have very shiny swirls and scratches."
(Don't ask me how I know) The only "correct" way to obtain that "show car" finish is polishing the paint (w/machine) BEFORE applying a Last Step Product.
You should only need to polish the paint no more than once a year. Keep swirls from reappearing on your paint by using the two bucket washing method.

Back to Basics - The Four P's
    Paint, Products, Pads and Process.

The list and variety of LSP products on the market can choke a horse. Even a very large heard of horses. (sigh)
There are tons natural carnauba waxes, cleaner waxes, synthetic sealants, hybrids and a whole new breed of "coatings".

    Basics:
Wax and sealant - Rule of thumb

Waxes - Usually contain some amount of natural carnauba wax, have a deep, warm look to them and usually last 3-4 weeks.

Sealants - Man made chemistry containing polymers that take 12-24 hours to bond, have a bright shiny look and last 3-4 months.

Zaino Z-2 is a sealant (it calls itself a polish). It has been around a long time and always gets good reviews on looks and longevity.
All waxes & sealants are applied VERY thin & Z-2 is no exception. Sealants need 12-24 hours between coats for polymers to bond.
For this reason I like to use Z-2 with ZFX. Zaino ZFX is a Z-2 curing accelerator and it allows me to apply 3 coats in a single afternoon.

    So here is the summary
    Prep
Use a DA machine...save your elbow
You need a short items list for the DA
Polish the paint before applying LSP
    Maint
Wash with the two bucket method
Clean with Quck Detailer and MF cloth
    Apply Z-2 w/ZFX every 3 months

    Enjoy!

Sweet that helps, I do have both types of buffers and a drill with powerball , for the glass my goal is just to get it clean, haha I'll "clean " it then I'll get it out in the sun streaks

A short list would be awesome , I might actually have it just dont realize i do , I got the steps down but would like maybe a small list of products I should use, wether it be between washes or every week to every other week when she gets washed an maybe a nice coat of shiny love ..... I do wanna purchase the zaino kit but if that deal isn't recommended let me know .... Should I keep using the products I listed or scrap them and move on, I always use a machine of some sort to apply , easy on the arms and cuts the time considerably , but taking it off is another story, I will sit with a detailer till I have zero streaks , I have a basket of microfibers that I usually go through every time I detail , I have my own color coded cloth system , cause I don't wanna use orange on the wheels one week then use it on the paint the next , I have specific ones for specific jobs haha

What brand/model of buffers do you have?
What size/type of backing plates do you have?

Let me know exact manufacturer/model/type when you get home and I'll make suggestions from there.

I'm not completely sure but I don't think Craftsman makes a DA that is good for polishing paint.
Is it a SHURHOLD DUAL ACTION POLISHER 3100 ?

    Yes it does!

The Dewalt looks like a rotary. If you are not practiced and skilled using a rotary for polishing paint I would suggest you not use it. It is not a tool for the novice.
The Craftsman 10"...Well if you put a long stick on it & had some Johnson floor wax it would be perfect for doing my hallway. I wouldn't use it to polish paint.

Here are three Dual Action (DA) buffers I suggest:
Griot's Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher
Porter Cable 7424 XP Dual Action Orbital Polisher
    Meguiars Dual Action Polisher G110v2

I know, sadly it's a case of $$$..."The right tool for the right job."
Griot's is my current favorite. More Power, Lifetime warranty etc.
Yes, this tool is an investment. It will perform & last your lifetime.

Yeah I used the craftsman 1 time and never used it again , I did use the dewalt this last time , I used it at 1000 rpm , kept it damp and used super light pressure , I will get one of the ones you recommended , but I also need practice with the dewalt haha I don't want it to go to waste , but if what u use what u recommended to me , then I'm gonna use it also , seems way less of a risk of damaging the paint and still get the same results , so with that what should I scrap and what should I keep? And after I scrap what should I get for daily mts and for weekend 12 pack and all out shine

Okay just ordered set from amazon , buffer , 2 white pads 2 gray pads , 1 blue and one pad cleaner and one pad conditioner ...... What does each pad do haha polish , finish and finesse

Who is the manufacturer of the pads?
    Lake Country etc.
    What style are they?
    CCS, flat etc.
    What size are they?
    5.5" or 6.5" etc.

    I would suggest a 5" backing plate.
and a six-pack of 5.5" LC flat pads.
    2) 5.5" orange lake country flat pads
    2) 5.5" white lake country flat pads
    1) 5.5" black LC flat pad
    1) 5.5" blue LC flat pad pad.

Do you already have Meguiars M105 and M205?

Use M105 with LC Orange pad - That's my workhorse "get er done" combo
Use M205 with LC White pad - This clears up any slight matte finish from M105

Use grey pads with Menz PO85 - This kicks up the shine & gloss after M205
Use blue pads for applying LSP wax, sealant etc. I usually do this by hand.
