I have the luxury of having both situations in Heisenberg. The older Alpine head unit has a rather large "brain" about the size of a small amp, and it is mounted under the passenger seat. It too was professionally installed, but I have to warn any new rear seat passengers of it's existence there so they don't step on it or break off any of the exposed RCA cables. I really hate where it is, and having amps in the storage compartments is far better. The only downside to having them in there is making tuning adjustments on the amps themselves, as those controls are facing the floor.

Love my steath box
Hey man,
Do you have a pic of the pillar with handle from an angle where you would be sitting in the driver's seat? Im curious how your pillar looks and if it got the bubbles on top of the pillar for the handle and/or to be able to fit over the stock A-pillar
I have attempted to do the same thing to my Autometer pillar and I hate to say it is ****ed up lol. I got them installed, but the pillar definitely was not made for my truck because there are no two bubbles on the pillar near the top to accomodate the handle. The bubbles would cover up the handle mounting points nicely while the pillar I got is too "flush" so the handle mounting points are obvious after cutting. It will do for now, however, I will look into the right pillar which everyone got so I can get it done properly.
The part number I got for my pillar is AUT 17304 - AUTOMETER 97-01 F150 FITS 03 HD
Is that description inaccurate?
Thanks!
