    Colder Spark Plugs?

I just bought my truck about a month ago and now its missing. I am pretty sure its the plugs. The former owner told me that ngk tr6's were in there and gappped to .035. I see between 15-17# of boost wot. Should I go to a colder plug because he said he had recently changed them so they shouldn't be bad this fast? This chart makes me think I may need to go to a colder plug because of the boost im seeing.

Took out plugs 5,6, and 7. Two were gapped at .035 and one at .036. Here are some pics of them.

Plugs look good to me, TR-6's are borderline OK at your boost level. I don't see any sign of detonation damage, if you close them down to .032, that will most likely cure your problem. Better yet since they are already out and new ones are less than 20 bucks, buy a new set and put them in. Too bad you don't have a set of MAD Coil Pack Screws ready to go in too.

Yeah. I already have some new ones. The cop's are the originals so I am getting new ones. Might as well change the plugs and coils.

I hope you're staying with Motorcraft COPs and not any one of the aftermarket ones. I've not heard of a one that is worth a damn.

    Colder Spark Plugs?

The stock cop's are not worth changing unless physically damaged or throwing a cel code for being bad.

Many people have problems with water leaking past them onto the plugs as they don't seal as well as the stock cop's do.

This is what happened to plug #7. It was wet when I pulled it. I'm thinking this was the source of the problem.

Thanks Oki. It was still raining today so I went and looked to see if I could see where the water was leaking from. It seems to be leaking from a ground that is just above plug #7 on the passenger side.
