    New engine help

Old guy here. Had my 03 Harley since 2004. But just found out I have a cylinder exhaust leak. Is it worth it to have the engine rebuilt? Try to find a new crate motor for it? Or try to find a custom built motor?

I definitely want to keep my truck. I’ve owned it for damn near half my life and if it’s time to say goodbye to it I just don’t know how I can.

Try to build the motor. Are you planning on upgrading the supercharger? If your going with more boost, then get forged internals. Ive had my truck since 03 (first truck). Lately ive had thought of getting rid of it, but I stop and take a look at it and just cant do it.

Build a new motor or have it rebuilt? Not going for more boost or need to upgrade the supercharger. Way past that stage in my life. Maybe when I owned it the first couple of years when I owned it I wanted to do that, but the cost $$$$ was not in my budget at the time. I feel you you about not wanting to get rid of it. Even though my truck needs a new paint job, it still looks sexy as hell.

Might be cheaper to rebuild what you have.
